Sai Seva Sangh (A Registered Charitable Organisation)
The groundwork for what is SAI SEVA SANGH today was laid on August 1988, when a few like-minded people came together for a common cause to educate underprivileged children in their neighborhood, provide free shelter to old women, and a cost-free support system for a rural Special School for the differently abled.
To educate the underprivileged children, the slum that we chose was surrounded by small scale industries. With no formal system or infrastructure in place, all that was there was a purpose to get together as many children as we could from the slums nearby and teach them how to read and write
We started with 26 children. We also introduced extracurricular activities such as art, dance, and sports to expose the children to learning opportunities that would go beyond the regular academic curriculum.
As an offshoot of the school logically led to the starting of an orphanage for girl children who lost either one or both of their parents to tragic circumstances beyond their control.
Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir School (A Unit of Sai Seva Sangh)

True education teaches the heart to feel, the mind to think and the hands to serve.
We began with a heartfelt mission — to bring light into the lives of children trapped in child labor in the Moosapet slum area of Hyderabad, surrounded by small-scale industries.
Why Moosapet?
Moosapet was chosen because it reflected a harsh reality — many children spent their days working instead of learning, helping their families survive. Moved by their plight, a few compassionate individuals came together to create a place where every child could experience the joy of learning.
What began with just a few children and dedicated volunteers soon grew into a full-fledged school. The children’s eagerness to learn and the team’s tireless commitment helped the school expand up to the XI standard within few years — a true testament to the power of love, education and collective effort.
What We Do ?
At Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir, education is completely free of cost. Every child receives textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, school bags and learning materials, along with a nutritious mid-day meal to make up for the income they might lose from labor. Regular medical check-ups and free medicines are provided by a team of voluntary doctors who care deeply for the children’s well-being.
Our teachers a blend of volunteers and sponsored educators — go beyond textbooks. What sets us apart is we teach education in Human Values. They nurture curiosity, discipline and self-confidence, ensuring each child grows into a responsible and value-based citizen.
School Life
From a modest beginning with 25–30 children in Classes I–III, the school nurtures over 350 students from Classes I to X. School hours run from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., allowing students to complete their homework here since many homes in the slum lack electricity.
At 4:00 p.m., every child is served a glass of milk — a simple yet caring gesture that symbolizes the warmth and nourishment of this extended family. The school has consistently achieved 100% distinction results in both SSC and VII Class Public Examinations, a reflection of hard work and perseverance.
Empowering the Future
Most of our students come from challenging circumstances — nearly half have lost one parent, and about a quarter are orphans. Through a combination of academic excellence and value-based education, these children are transforming their lives.
Our alumni stand as shining examples — many have completed Intermediate and vocational courses, some have secured stable employment, while others have joined Nursing programs at NIMS and Mahaveer Hospital. Sai Seva Sangh supports their higher education through bank loans, covering interest and surety until they become self-reliant.
Our Continuing Mission
As more parents recognize the value of education, the number of children seeking admission continues to rise. This shift — from labor to learning — is the true success of our mission.
At Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir, every smile tells a story of hope, every lesson brings new confidence, and every child is a step toward a brighter, more compassionate world. We welcome your support and partnership to continue nurturing these young lives and building a future where no child is left behind.
Residential Facility to Orphan & Underprivileged Girls (A Unit of Sai Seva Sangh)

The orphanage was started on 17 February 2006, with an orphanage for young girls, a destitute home for ladies and an Old Age Home for the elderly ladies.
Observing the suffering children who attend the free school (Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir) and the other people around, the need to provide food and shelter to the orphans, destitute and the elderly became quite evident. And with that the idea of starting a center which houses all the three categories became clear.
The concept behind starting the three units together is that each unit provides moral support to each other, shares love and helps each other. The destitute women take care of the children and the elderly who in turn love them as their own family. The elderly also gain the affection of the small children and forget their pain. They also share their experiences and give their valuable advice wherever necessary.
All the three units work together in harmony. They share their routine work like cooking, washing, cleaning etc. which would otherwise be a cumbersome task. Now they enjoy doing their work.

The home now houses 18 elderly ladies. There is provision for 25 inmates. These inmates are being taken care of well by the other unit members and the other volunteers as well These ladies are self-sufficient, they cook their own meals mostly, help the other unit cooking by cutting vegetables, make pickles, snacks etc. They are given nutritious food.
The inmates feel happy in the premises where they get the love and affection of the young children and school children along with the other ladies. Medical facility is also available to them through the free clinic that operates on the premises.
