School For Orphaned and Underprivileged Children (since 1994)
Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir – A Unit of Sai Seva Sangh
Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir, established in 1994 under the banner of Sai Seva Sangh, was founded through the noble efforts of a group of dedicated women — alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Having received free education themselves, they were inspired by the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to serve society by providing free education to every child in need.
Their journey began in the Moosapet slum community, where they initially taught women about health and hygiene. This humble effort soon grew into an informal school for children who were working as child labourers in nearby industries.
With continuous community involvement and government recognition, the initiative evolved into a formal institution — offering completely free education, including mid-day meals, uniforms, books, and support for higher studies.
Today, the school continues its mission to educate and empower girls from orphaned, single-parent, and economically challenged families, ensuring their holistic development through academics, values, and co-curricular learning.
The curriculum integrates academic excellence, spiritual education (Para Vidya), sports, fine arts, and practical learning, shaping students into confident, compassionate, and value-driven individuals. Through a blend of traditional and modern teaching methods, the school upholds its guiding principle:
“The end of Education is Character.”
— Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Aim:
Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir School aims to provide free, value-based education to children from slums and low-income families around Moosapet. The school supports orphans, single-parent, and underprivileged girls by offering zero-cost education that nurtures both academics and character.
Our goal is to build confidence, self-esteem, and moral values, helping every child grow into a responsible, independent, and compassionate individual — living by the motto,
“Love All, Serve All.”
